Today we leave very early from our hotel to the busstation, after all, we want to see as much of the mountains as we possible can.
Upon our arrival at the busstation we go straight for the line which goes to the Yungu cableway, just as the friendly hotel owner told us to do. When we enter the building I almost get a heart attack when I see all the tourist groups and the only thing that goes through my mind is : "no chance in hell that we are going to be alone on that mountain" but than again, I should be getting used to the idea that where ever you go, you are never alone.
Luckely we don't have to wait so long, within 10 minutes we can go and we take place in front of the coach. The ride doesn't take that long and before we even know it, we are at the entrance of the cableway.
There is a big queue in front of us, but to our surprise everything is going rather smoothly and in just 15 minutes we are on the mountain TOGETHER with all those tour groups ... sigh, there goes my plan of walking this mountain and in the meantime have some peace and quiet.
We try to make the most of it and after a while we even manage to avoid all the tour groups. The views on the mountain are amazing and really worthwhile a visit. On every corner there is just something beautiful and we look like Japanese tourists (can't say Chinese in this case! ) and do nothing else but take lots and lots of pictures.
The first part of the trail is easy and more or less flat so, no trouble there. But the second part is a completely different story. Although this part of the trail is very beautiful and the rock formations are really amazing, the only thing that is continiously on my mind is : "I really need to go to the gym"!? How awfull is that???
My fellow travel buddies don't seem to have the same problem as me. We take some much needed stops once in a while to watch the beautiful scenery and in my case to catch a breath as well!
Much to my surprise we even arrive at our hotel before the sun has set, so we all have a moment of relaxation in our room with a nice hot shower and a bite to eat.
After an hour we go again on our way to a place called the Bright Summit to see the sunset. It is partly clouded which is kind of a pity but I still hope to see something. We wait for almost half an hour and it is really getting colder as well. When the moment is there for the sun to set, we only can see a little bit. It isn't the most beautiful sunset, but still a nice one to watch.
For me personally it is a great way to end this long and magnificent day.
